The new system allows a reduction in water usage and improves the growing environment for trout fingerlings. GROW-OUT STAGEOur BAP Certified farm is situated on Lake Diefenbaker. The lake offers a large source of high-quality, mountain-fed water, which creates an optimum environment for producing healthy and nutritious steelhead trout. Both the fish and the environment are routinely monitored to ensure that the fish are produced in an environmentally responsible manner.
PROCESSINGWild West Steelhead’s HACCP approved processing facility is located on site. This provides the company with the unique advantage of harvesting to order. Processing fish immediately after harvest ensures optimum freshness and the highest quality. Once inside the plant, our qualified QMP (Quality Management Plan) staff ensure the product is handled and packaged to specifications that meet and exceed the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) stringent guidelines for quality and safety.
